Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid filler used to improve signs of aging or augment areas of the face non-surgically. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found within the skin which creates a hydrated, firm, and youthful appearance, giving the skin volume. The product is injectable, and Juvederm procedures can be completed in as little as 15 minutes depending on the treatment area. Juvederm is one of the most popular dermal filler options available in the United States, with several types including Juvederm Voluma XC, Juvederm Ultra XC, or Juvederm Volbella XC, each intended for a specific purpose and treatment area. To determine which Juvederm is best for you, visit Dr. Falcon at our Natrona Heights office, which is located 9 miles from Leechburg and 14 miles from Apollo.
Most patients who are interested in dermal fillers are good candidates for Juvederm. Dr. Falcon will review your health history and determine whether the treatment is a safe choice for you. Juvederm has several uses, which can include:
- Restoring volume to areas like the cheeks or under-eyes
- Increasing fullness in the lips
- Reducing lines and wrinkles such as nasolabial folds
During a consultation, Dr. Falcon will work to understand your goals for injections and recommend whether Juvederm or another injectable product is best for you. Typically, injections can be administered immediately after a consultation.
“The surgery center nurses were so nice. They answered all my questions and helped me prepare for the big day. They even called me the next day just to check in on me.”
Juvederm injections require no downtime, so you can return to work, school, or other normal routines immediately after your appointment if you choose. Some redness and swelling at the injection site are both normal. You should avoid putting pressure on the area and will be advised to avoid exercise or other strenuous activity for about 24 hours after receiving injections to prevent bleeding or bruising.
Juvederm results are immediately noticeable, despite some swelling that should dissipate quickly. Your results will not be permanent, because the body naturally and safely breaks down the hyaluronic acid over time. For most patients, Juvederm results last for between six months and two years, depending on the specific type of Juvederm used, their metabolism, the injection site, and other factors. You can receive maintenance injections as needed to keep up your results if you choose.
