With age, the amount of hyaluronic acid decreases, contributing to volume loss in various areas.
Volbella is commonly injected into the lips to fill out wrinkles or help enhance lip definition, but its unique structure of hyaluronic acid make it useful under the eyes as well.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Under-Eye Filler?
People who are good candidates for under-eye filler with Volbella are those who experience a mild to moderate degree of under-eye bags or hollowness. This formula helps the skin retain moisture and appear more full, which often helps “lift” the appearance of bags. It’s not a replacement for more invasive and extensive procedures such as a facelift or eyelid lift, and typically isn’t recommended to get rid of wrinkles around the eyes.

What to Expect From Under-Eye Filler?
Like many other injectable treatments, Volbella is a relatively fast procedure that takes less than half an hour. On the day of your appointment, you’ll receive a topical anesthetic to make the procedure comfortable, then a series of injections with a cannula, or thin metal tube, will be made throughout the under-eye area where you have issues.
The results are visible immediately but will improve over the next week or so as the filler “settles” into the tissue. Common side effects from hyaluronic acid filler injections include swelling and bruising, most of which resolve in just a day or two.
How Long Do Under-Eye Fillers Last?
With Volbella, the expected longevity of the formula is about a year before needing a maintenance injection. Several factors affect how long the filler lasts, including your metabolism, the amount injected, and how much that area is moved by muscle activity.
