Consultation Process
Check In with the Front Office Staff
First, you will check in with our staff in the front office. Our office will verify your contact information and insurance through our electronic health record system.
Meet with the Nurse or Medical Assistant
When we are ready to begin your appointment, you will meet with a medical assistant or nurse first. They will review your medical history and help you get ready to meet with Dr. Falcon.
Meet with Dr. Falcon
Once your nurse or medical assistant has collected your medical history, you are ready to meet with Dr. Falcon. Dr. Falcon will discuss what your expectations are for your results and what is involved in the surgical process. He will also explain the risks and benefits regarding the procedure and discuss whether he feels you are medically healthy enough to undergo such a procedure.
Some questions to ask include:
- How long have you been performing plastic surgery?
- How much experience do you have performing the procedure I am interested in? How often do you perform this procedure?
- Where will my surgery be performed?
- Who will administer anesthesia during my procedure?
- Do you have any other recommendations to obtain the results I am seeking?
When choosing Dr. Falcon, you are choosing a board-certified surgeon with exceptional experience in a range of procedures. Dr. Falcon never recommends unnecessary procedures, including options that are unnecessarily invasive. He will take time to listen and understand your goals to provide honest and thorough assessment and advice.
Examination by Dr. Falcon
You’ll remain in your own clothes for most of the consultation. If you are interested in a procedure for the breasts or body, Dr. Falcon will leave the room so you can change into a gown. When you are ready, he will then return with a nurse to examine the area. If necessary, pre-operative photos can also be taken.
Discuss Cost and Financing Options
The next step is receiving a detailed price quote for your procedure. Costs include the surgeon’s fee, facility fee, anesthesia fees, and any other considerations such as medical devices like breast implants. All post-operative appointments are included in the cost of the surgery.
Our practice is able to offer multiple financing options. Your surgical coordinator can assist you with this process.
If you have obtained a plastic surgery quote from another surgeon, please don’t hesitate to discuss it with our surgical coordinator. We pride ourselves on being one of the most accessible plastic surgery offices in the Pittsburgh region. We have the unique ability to control our costs through our onsite surgical facility and can offer the most competitive rates.
Meet with Our Surgical Coordinator
Your surgical coordinator will assist you in choosing a date and location for your procedure. Our coordinator will review any pre-operative testing needed and assist you in obtaining any necessary medical clearances. She will also review pre-operative instructions and any additional instructions. She will be your point of contact for any questions or concerns regarding your chosen facility and scheduling.
In some cases, one consultation is not enough to feel completely ready to move forward with your plastic surgery. You may encounter new questions about what you discussed during your consultation as time passes. If this is the case, you are encouraged to schedule a second consultation. It’s important to be sure about the procedure you are interested in, so we do not charge for a first or second cosmetic consult. We want to offer you as much time and knowledge needed to make an informed decision.
