What is a Brow Lift?
A brow lift, or forehead lift, can help to reduce the wrinkle lines that develop horizontally across the forehead as well as those that occur on the bridge of the nose between the eyes. The procedure improves frown lines, the vertical creases that develop between the eyebrows. A brow lift can also help by raising sagging brows that are hooding the upper eyelids. In many cases, a brow lift can also be done in conjunction with blepharoplasty. This helps to create an overall rejuvenated look by reducing sagging or drooping in both the eyebrows and eyelids. To find out if a brow lift is the best treatment option for you, visit us at our Natrona Heights Office, which is located 9 miles from Leechburg and 14 miles from Apollo.
Who is a Candidate for a Brow Lift?
The typical brow lift candidate has wrinkles or deep folds on the forehead, which may cause them to look angry or unhappy. They may also have drooping eyebrows, which can sag into the eyelid area. These are all common signs of aging that can be addressed through the brow lift procedure. Those with excess skin in the eyelid area may also be advised to pair their brow lift with an upper blepharoplasty to achieve their intended results. Before you undergo a brow lift, it’s important to be generally healthy overall. Dr. Falcon will review your health history during your consultation to ensure that the surgery is a safe choice for you. He will also examine your forehead to determine whether a brow lift is the best option to achieve your cosmetic goals.
“I had minimal scarring on face after surgery, I was very pleased with my results.”
What is Brow Lift Recovery Like?
After your brow lift, you can return home with a friend or family member who can drive you and care for you in the early stages of your recovery. You will have loose bandages or dressings in place over any incisions, which may also be applied to reduce swelling. Through the healing process, you can expect swelling, redness, and some discomfort. Keeping your head elevated, including while sleeping, and applying cold compresses can help to relieve swelling. Dr. Falcon may also prescribe pain medication to keep you comfortable through your recovery. It is also possible that you will experience itching or numbness at the incision site as you heal.
Most patients require about two weeks of downtime before they are ready to return to work or other normal routines after their brow lift. During your post-operative appointments, Dr. Falcon will check in on your healing progress and let you know when you can safely return to various activities like your exercise routine.
